Artsy Fartsy....

So when Colt left me......(sniff sniff) to go to Idaho to look at the new sammy's building he would be working in...I thought i would be the amazing wife I am, and paint him a painting to surprise him when he got home... :) I am just that awesome you know..

This is what the result of that was.

Colt liked it so much he asked me to do another one...but the only canvas that we had was...huge...but i decided to tackle it anyways.

I deemed the Giraffe appropriate for the size of the canvas...he took FOREVER, but i think the outcome is pretty cute...I am thinking i might do more of these... :)

(It just makes me smile when I think how this little guy would run...I imagine it should have little tinkling bells as the sound effect....awwwwww)

Workin 9 to 5....(cue music)

I GOT A JORB!!!! (job to you normal folk)

A couple days ago, Colt and I were walking in the Gateway Mall trying to look for a job for me, because I had been hoping to snag this job taking care of this wonderful lady in the hospital because one of her caretakers was going to quit. Buuuutttttt, the caretaker decided not to quit and so I didn't get the full time job...but i am going to be the "call in girl" if a carettaker can't make it to the hospital. Which means a little extra moola on the side. Which is a plus of course.

Annnnnnyhooooo, we were walking around the mall looking for employment opportunities, and getting disappointed and disgruntled. Then Colt suggested that I try the Childrens Museum. So i walk in and go to the info desk and ask if there were any jobs available. The guy said that they were hiring! I was so stoked I filled out the application right at the desk. Colt then asked if I could see the manager, which I thought was a little forward...but it turned out to be the right thing, because I got an interview the very next day!!!

The Next day I went to the museum all by myself...and I was running a little late, and I had a mall to run through to get to the museum. Suddenly i was stopped by those ever pesky mall kiosk ladies. Curse me for being so kind!!! I couldn't just blow this girl off, plus she already had my hand and was buffing my nails and moisturizing my cuticules and lotioning the back of my hand. I just smiled and nodded and was like "Yeah...uh huh.." rather quickly trying to speed things up. I just felt bad because her and her co worker were from some little european country and they kept pushing bargains down my throat, that I got the impression that if I didn't buy something that there boss/kiosk pimp would send them back to their cold farms somewhere in Europe....I listened for as long as I could, until I was like. "I AM SO SORRY....I HAVE TO GO!" and I just ran to the museum.

When I got there, I went straight into the interview, which I was a little embarrassed about because I knew I looked all sweaty and stinky from running in the heat thru the mall to get there on time. But it went sooooo smoothly and the floor manager Joe was so nice and kind, and happy, and he said that I will be so great for the museum!!! Score! Job acquired!

I am going to be "host", which means I will be there to help kids with crafts, and play with them to help them learn. Mostly I will be putting the toys away, but I also get to host fieldtrips and birthday parties! Yes!

And you know what the extra plus was...The museum is looking for a resident artist!! During the interview, i mentioned that my husband was an artist, and Joe (the manager) got excited and asked what kind of art he did. So I told him about Yo Gabba and other things...and he told me that i should get Colt in for an interview!!! So Colt submitted his application a couple days ago..So pray things work out for the best!!

I am so stoked for this job! I hope I do ok...I will try my best! Wish me luck!!

Playing House...

Sorry to all of my fans that I have not been writing so much...but I am going to put a stop to this right now!!

T
oday, Colt decided that he was going to show off his manliness and his manly abilities by making me useful things! Like this shelf to hold the microwave and my pots and pans. I needed it badly because I only had like 1x1 foot area of counter space to prepare meals on. Sheesh... but now that I have this nifty craft made by lovely husband I have more counter to make many-a-yummy meal on! Woot!

He also finally installed the much much much needed door knobs on our kitchen doors. (they didn't have any before and so you had to fingernail into the crease of the door til you could get your little finger in it to try and pry it open....yeah not very effective)

This beautiful desk was also crafted by my manly man husband. He built it for my future new iMac! It will be a beautiful sight when its all put together. So great! Our house is becoming a home!

I love this man, and I am so thankful for his talents to make this house our home. Thank you honey, my desk and shelves and doorknobs are beautiful! I love you!!!!
